INTERIOR ARCHITECT + DESIGNER

Wafa AlFalahi, a graduate from AUS with a bachelor's degree in Interior Design, is an interior designer whose work seamlessly integrates diverse elements from various disciplines, including culture, history, and the sciences, resulting in the art of space creation. Her overarching objective is to craft intimate environments that serve as an extension of the surrounding atmosphere.

In addition to her academic background, she actively engages with clay as her primary medium of exploration, enabling her to produce sculptural pieces that convey a sense of fluidity in motion, transforming objects into dynamic, living forms that interact harmoniously with the existing world.

Her work naturally transitioned to furniture design when she joined the Athath Fellowship, where she curated her first functional chair catered for potters around the UAE.

Recognized for her creative endeavors, she was featured in Villa 88 Magazine's June issue, "The Odyssey," and also gained exposure in Identity AE Magazine as a creative, and in Architecture Digest's issue "New Arab Voices."

Her journey as a creator spans disciplines, and she continues to leave her imprint as a maker through her participation in the Tanween 2023 program, exploring various aspects of product design. This is where she curated her first material—a bioplastic infused with henna in commemoration of her grandmother. Moreover, she was also a member of the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation for the emerging 2023 cohort, in which she explored other mediums like hair, paint, and other natural materials to further build onto her practice.
